Dana Brown
Dana is a member and a certified police dog instructor for the national recognized Virginia Police Canine Association.
Dana has spent over 26 years in the K9 Services industry, both foreign and domestic, serving as a Military Police K9 handler in the United States Marine Corps, in the private sector with civilian law enforcement and most recently as a private contractor where she operated as the Director of K9 Operations in Iraq, for the largest International K9 Servicing Company. In this position she controlled operations of over 250 multinational dual and single purpose explosive detector dog teams working on both government and commercial contracts in Iraq. In the USMC has operated as a Kennel Master, trainer, K9 handler, Special Reaction Team Member, Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor and Watch Commander. She was top of her class as the Honor Graduate of the Military Working Dog (MWD) Handler and Detector Dog course at Lackland Air force Base in Texas. Upon completion of this training, she went on to become a Military Police K9 Handler where she worked both Patrol/Narcotic and Patrol/Explosive K9s. During this time Dana was sent on various missions in support of the President of the United States. Dana was then sent back to Lackland to complete the MWD Trainer/Supervisor course. She was then assigned as the Chief Trainer at her kennels and then the Kennel Master where she successfully trained, certified and, employed her MWD teams on Military Police operations, various domestic threats and, Presidential and VIP support missions around the world.
After 9/11 she was pivotal in the development and deployment of MWD teams on deployments in support of combat operations during OIF and OEF, where she was also deployed to Iraq as the Regional Kennel Master for Task Force MP. Additionally, Dana spent 5 years training with Secret Service K9, Pentagon Police K9, FBI K9, and numerous law enforcement agencies surrounding the DC area. Dana strives to continually further her education. She recently completed her BA in Physical Education with a Sports concentration and graduated from Eastern Oregon University.
Dana’s passion is to provide solid working dogs to well qualified handlers making a perfect team working in Tandem.
